My fairytale pony, puppy and God's real and true promise.
Norman is a giant Percheron cross, standing with about 17.1 hands, meaning the top of his back stands around 5'9", two inches higher than the top of my head.
Ruby is my beautiful Great Pyrenees who weighs in at a solid 110 lbs now.
These beautiful big white creatures are the gentlest and sweetest you will ever meet and sometimes they are just what I need.
After many long days spent trying to untangle our system crash, customers who thought we had abandoned them because our phone, text, email and contact forms all go through the same currently broken thing, and so much year-end paperwork for all of the many bankers my brain is tired. My husband gently noted that I don't seem to be finding joy in what I do recently and I realized he was right.
Spending days wrapped in numbers, broken things and feeling like we've let people down, despite my best efforts has broken me down some. That happens when you forget to hand some of the burden off to God and the people who love you.
So when I walked outside and saw the sun shining off of these beauties and then shortly after my phone dinged with the picture of the rainbow from my husband I had to stop and thank God.
Sometimes our praises come out pretty easily. Sometimes we have to dig for them. Sometimes our praises match the thoughts in our brain. Sometimes you have to say them anyways until your brain, body and soul line up with them. And sometimes when not a whole lot is lining up God reminds you He is there and sends you a big white horse, a big white dog, a rainbow and a man that shows God's love through his actions to his family and reminds you all of the things that are hard are earthly, temporary and that if you just keep looking for Him and to Him He is there to take some of the weight.
Standing with my feet in the mud, leaning against a big white horse while he gently nuzzled my coat pocket looking for a treat, with my big white dog leaning against my legs things don't look quite so insurmountable.
